expanded and reimagined
Dow Gardens is pleased to announce the renovation and expansion of the 1975 Alden B. Dow-designed conservatory. The design optimizes current spaces and provides flexibility for plant collections and special exhibits.
WELCOME BACK
Enjoy stunning additions like a light-filled lobby and a brand new water feature that incorporates moving water in nine different ways. With it's monotone color scheme and sparkling LED lighting, the new zones provide an elegant yet efficient space to interact with plant life.
Floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of the exterior landscape. (A total of 432 pieces of double-pain low emissivity glass allow for sunlight, while an additional 62 pieces open up the inverted side walls).
BUTTERFLIES IN BLOOM RETURNS

Mingle with thousands of butterflies, from around the globe, while surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. The unique design of the building carries the iridescent insects down to eye level, while a brand new pinning window offers an up-close view of their metamorphosis.
